1. Set up your zumi profile ✨
• Create your profile: add the services you want to offer, prices, availability, and your home location (for travel fees).
• Upload documents: photo ID + proof of insurance in Account Settings → ID & Insurance Documents.
• Show off your skills: upload any extra qualifications in Further Education Certificates.
• Explore the app: have a play around so you feel confident using it. Feedback always welcome! 🙏🏼
2. Insurance 🛡️
• The RCVS requires us to have professional indemnity insurance to cover for veterinary negligence.
• Public liability insurance to cover you for pet sitting/general pet care services.
• VDS “criminal & disciplinary” cover is useful.
3. HMRC registration 📝
• If you’re not already, register as self-employed. It’s quick and easy online.
4. Start small 🌱
• Offer a few appointments in the evenings/weekends until you find your flow.
5. Spread the word 📢
• Tell friends, family, and local pet owners you’re on zumi.
• Post in local Facebook groups – word of mouth works wonders!
• Add the zumi logo + App Store / Google Play links or QR codes to your posts to make it easy for people to find you.
